“I was always aware of drive in movies throughout the US and we knew that it had potential to take off in Ireland, as long as we were able to gain customer credibility. We needed to prove to customers that we were professional, equipped with the highest quality entertainment equipment alongside the best food offerings all within an affordable price for all to attend.”
Retro Drive In has welcomed over 62,000 attendees since January 2017 and Barry believes his Trailblazer BBQ has been “an integral part and a great addition to our revenue streams.”

Deciding Retro Drive-In Movies needed a Trailblazer BBQ
Initially Retro Drive-In Movies sourced external food tenders to cater throughout their sell-out events, however soon realised how well they were doing and that they were missing out on a prime opportunity to gain additional revenue.
“Normally, screenings hold 2,500 cars. Averaging at two people per car means we have approx. 5,000 viewers at a screening. If 10% of this population were to purchase a burger or hot dog costing €5 euros each we could be making a further €2,500 per event!”
